Online degree structure
At Walbrook, our online courses are divided into 6-month semesters. Full-time students typically study four modules per semester, while part-time students take two or three. Each module is designed to offer a blend of self-paced study and flexible assessment options, allowing you to balance your education with other commitments.
Find out more about how our courses are structured, to plan your study time around your commitments.
The next intake for our degrees is TBC.
If you're planning to apply for a tuition fee loan to fund your studies, you should allow at least 6-8 weeks for your application to be processed. We cannot enrol undergraduate students using a student loan until the SLC has approved your loan application, and your loan must be confirmed at least 7 days before your chosen start month – otherwise, your start will be deferred to the next available intake. Find out more in our guide to student finance.
You can begin studying on your chosen start date after completing our application and admissions process. This includes submitting any required documentation, and confirming your undergraduate student loan and/or making your pre-payment.
Once everything is finalised, we’ll send you your log-in details on your chosen start date, so you can access your course and start your learning journey.
See our How to Apply guide for a full breakdown of the application and admissions process.
Yes. Many of our students have work, family and other life commitments, so we have designed our online study programmes to take time constraints into account.

Yes. You can apply for a leave of absence for legitimate personal reasons such as illness, bereavement, and other family or personal emergencies.
If you need to defer your studies or change your start date before you’ve started studying, reach out to a Study Advisor.
Please note, if you defer your start date after your request for pre-payment has been sent to you, you will still be required to make your pre-payment before the 90-day deadline.
That will depend on your circumstances. If you're a current student, please contact the Student Office at studentoffice@walbrook.ac.uk to discuss whether this is possible in your case.
If you struggle with time management and/or motivation during your studies, you can reach out for support form our coaches.
To discuss the terms and conditions of your studies, please contact the Student Office at studentoffice@walbrook.ac.uk.

Online exams and assessments
Exams are 100% online, giving you the flexibility to choose a time that works best for your schedule. You can book an exam slot 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, once you’ve passed your self-assessments.
To maintain academic integrity, all exams are monitored by a proctor via video and audio. They’ll ensure your exam environment and computer setup meet the necessary standards, so your achievements are recognised and respected.
Not all modules require an exam. For full details about your assessments, refer to the programme specification, which can be found on the webpage of the degree you’re interested in.
You have two options for sitting an online exam:
reserve a fixed slot in advance, or
choose one at short notice.
Slots are available 24 hours a day all year round.
When booking a slot, you’ll see all available dates from at least 24 hours ahead. You can then choose a time to sit your exam that fits in with your schedule.
Find out more about booking exams in our guide to online exams and assessments.
Exams last 90 minutes.
We’ll share your results on the learning platform about six weeks after you sit your exam.
If you fail a module, you’ll have one opportunity to re-sit an exam, or you can resubmit any failed parts of your assessment to achieve a passing grade. When re-sitting an exam, make sure you check for any changes to the syllabus that could affect the content of the assessment. If you pass the re-sit, your mark will be capped at the pass score for that assignment.
At Walbrook, we’ll support you at every stage of your learning journey. Our flexible learning approach lets you prepare with mock exams, and you can take the real exam when you feel ready, giving you control and confidence. You’ll also have access to study coaching, both before and after your exams.
No. Some modules require you to submit written work instead.
Find out more about the different assessment types you might experience in our guide to online exams and assessments.
Yes, assessments are an ongoing part of your learning. You’ll complete one assessment for each module, which helps you apply what you’ve learned and track your progress. Assessments are spread throughout your course, so you’ll complete them as you move through each module rather than all at once.
For full details about your assessments, refer to the programme specification, which can be found on the webpage of the degree you’re interested in.
Our online exams are carried out and supervised by an external provider, with whom you’ll need to book a time slot in advance (at any time of day you would like).
To take your exam, you will need to connect to the provider’s platform at the scheduled time, with either your laptop and an external webcam, set up so your keyboard, hands and face are visible from the side.
This is required in order to ensure that you take the exam without using any external help, such as contact with other people or using notes.
Find out more about how online exams work at Walbrook.
Our iPad offer
If you applied before February 2025, you’ll still receive an iPad as part of your course.
For applications submitted after this date, we no longer offer iPads. We’ve updated our approach to focus on enhancing your online learning experience through our online study platform, giving you flexible access to resources anytime, anywhere.
This change allows us to invest even more in the tools and support that truly help you succeed in your studies.

Fees and funding
Tuition fees
The total fees are:
£20,805 for an undergraduate course
£9,750 for a postgraduate master’s course
£10,250 for an MBA.
Yes. Fees can be paid in monthly instalments, annually or in one go. Our flexible payment options are interest-free, and you can get fee reductions on payments made in advance (depending on study level and duration).
Please note, your pre-payment of tuition fees is required before your enrolment, and sits outside of the flexible payment options we offer.
Yes. You'll receive a fee reduction of 2% for paying annually in advance for any course, or a reduction of up to 10%* if you pay for your course in full at the start of your studies (*reduction depends on study level and duration).
We accept payments by bank transfer or credit card.
Yes, we offer the Walbrook Scholarship, providing a £1,200 reduction in study fees for eligible undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA students. This scholarship is designed to empower your learning journey by making higher education more accessible. Find out more about our scholarship and how to apply.
Yes. Our higher education alumni are entitled to 10% off their fees if they study for a second degree with us.
Everything’s included in the tuition fee. This includes the pre-payment we ask for to confirm your enrolment, which is based on one month’s tuition fee and deducted from your overall tuition fees once paid.
Please note that once you accept your unconditional offer (by confirming your undergraduate student loan or making your pre-payment of tuition fees), you’ll be entering into a formal agreement to study with us and pay your tuition fees.
Tuition fee loans
UK-based students can apply for a tuition fee loan at undergraduate level or the master’s loan at postgraduate level. You can find out more about tuition fee loans in our guide to student finance.
Once you've submitted your application for a tuition fee loan, the review process can take up to 6-8 weeks. We highly recommend giving yourself at least 6-8 weeks between submitting your student loan application and your chosen start date, allowing you to focus on your studies without any unnecessary delays.
If you’re an undergraduate student using a government tuition fee loan, we can’t officially enrol you or allow you to start your course until your loan has been approved and verified by the Student Loans Company (SLC).
Our courses are 100% online giving you the flexibility to study from home, full or part-time. That means that you won’t have extra costs like rent or travel, and therefore won’t be eligible for a maintenance loan unless you have special circumstances such as a disability.
UK-based students studying a master’s or MBA qualify for the full master's loan amount, which you can choose to fund your tuition fees and some living costs.
If eligible, our scholarships may also help with your living costs.
If you can't see your course on the Student Loan Company website, it may be because of the study mode you have chosen. You must select to study part-time in the first few steps of making your student loan application, even if you wish to study full-time. The part-time loan is enough to cover the tuition fees for your online degree.
If you have already started an application but selected full-time study, please cancel this application and begin a new one, correctly picking the 'Part Time' loan option.
If you still have any difficulties, you might find the answers in our guide to student finance, or feel free to get in touch and we'll help you get set up.
